Community House

Host your next event at the Community House, ideally suited for small to medium sized groups.

The City of Center provides an optional facility (from the Windham Civic Center) for parties and events - The Community House. With an open 2,400 sq.ft., the building contains a single room, with space for up to 125 guests. Weddings, showers, family reunions and birthdays, and sometimes even church events are frequently held in this facility. The relaxed atmosphere of the Community House helps create a great setting. This self-serve facility contains tables and chairs. The kitchen includes a refrigerator (no freezer), a microwave, and storage areas. The Community House is located in Center on San Augustine Street, across the street from the Mangum Funeral Home. The building was originally built in 1941, and remodeled in 2013, providing modern HVAC and restroom facilities. The preexisting atmosphere of the facility was kept, while providing a newer, more usable setting.

The renting process is very simple. There is a single day rate ($325.00 rent + $150.00 damage deposit) for all events, with a reduced second day rate available for additional setup or multi-day events.
